Hurricane season in the Atlantic ocean is officially from June 1st to November 30th. It is possible for hurricanes to occur outside of this time frame, but over 97% of tropical activity occurs during this six-month window.

The peak season in the Atlantic basin is from August through October. The climatological peak of activity is around September 10 each year.
