Miami’s Coconut Grove neighborhood has an incredibly rich history. It was originally settled by Bahamian seamen and a few pioneering families in the late 1800s. In the 1960s, the Grove was a hotbed of hippie culture. Today, the yuppie culture has mostly taken over, bit it still has a definite Bohemian flare. Visitors and locals alike flock to its trendy boutiques, top-quality restaurants, and wild bars and clubs. This tour will introduce you to these establishments, and also to the natural beauty and history hidden throughout. The tour is best taken during the daytime, when you can see the natural wonders at The Barnacle State Historic Site and Peacock Park.
