Kids can learn to skate and cycle in a safe and friendly environment

Located in Coconut Grove’s Peacock Park, this skatepark is a great place for kids and teens to have fun, get exercise, and improve their skating and cycling skills. It has been voted Best Skate Park by South Florida Parenting Magazine. It is the only non-profit skatepark in Miami, and is open to all residents and visitors regardless of income. The 10,000 square foot, indoor-outdoor facility features street courses and obstacles for beginners as well as advanced skaters.

Skateboarding and inline skating lessons are offered for anyone, starting at age 4. Scholarships are available, based on income. BMX bike lessons are also provided. Helmets are required for all skaters and cyclists.

If you don’t have your own equipment, you can rent BMX bikes, several types of boards, protective gear and more. They also have a well-equipped learning center with video stations and gaming computers. Local kids also come for homework help, tutoring, and other sports such as kayaking and fishing.

Skatepark Schedule and Costs

  • Monday – Thursday, 3 pm – 7 pm, Cost: $10
  • Friday, 3 pm – 8 pm, Cost: $13
  • Saturday and Sunday, 11:30 am – 8 pm, Cost: $13
  • Private Lessons: $45 per hour
